AGA MUHLACH adds a new dimension to his career as the host of a big-budgeted edutainment show,”Pinoy Explorer”. TV5 apparently spent so much to produce it and no less than creative head Percy Intalan accompanied Aga abroad. For 10 days, they rode 12 planes, crossed 4 time zones and travelled a total of 37,000 miles. The first leg of their trip took them from Manila to California to Colorado and to Thermopolis, Wyoming where the Wyoming Dynosaur Center is located.
“Wyoming used to be the playground of dinosaurs,” says Percy. “We’re showing our coverage there combined with footages of dinosaurs from BBC and Discovery Channel shows like ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’.”
“We went to an actual dinosaur quarry where they dig up dinosaur bones,” adds Aga.
“From there, we went to Billings, Montana for the next leg of our trip.” “Billings is a remote town with a population of only 600 and there’s a Filipino na kilala si Aga, dun ako nawindang,” says Percy. “From there, we went to Utah and took the plane to Anchorage, Alaska.”
“TV5 chartered a plane so we can go to the glaciers on top of the mountains,” says Aga. “We went fishing and I was able to catch a salmon. 11 PM na, maliwanag pa sa kanila.”
From Alaska, they returned to Montana and visited the Yellowstone National Park where you can see bisons crossing the street. In the Diamond Ranch, Aga became a cowboy hosting while on top of a horse.”We forgot about sleep and jetlag,” says Aga. “It’s very tiring, but very fulfilling. Up to now, I’m still high and I don’t want to lose the hangover I got from that trip. Someday, I want to take my family to all the places we’ve been to. I’ve always wanted to do a show like this. This is my calling.”
“Pinoy Explorer” will be seen starting this Sundayt after “Pidol’s Wonderland” at 6 PM.
