Atty. Joji Alonso will do everything to lobby Babae sa Septic Tank to get nominated in the Oscars

EUGENE DOMINGO and producer Atty. Joji Alonso are jubilant that their movie, “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank”, was chosen as the country’s official entry in the best foreign language film category of the next Oscar Awards. This early, Eugene is keeping her fingers crossed that the film will qualify as one of the five nominees and dreaming of attending the annual awards night held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

“Pero umpisa pa lang ito,” says Atty. Joji. “Kailangan ng madugong promo para mapansin tayo ng Academy voters. Malupit na lobbying to the max ito. We should give out DVDs to all the voters to make sure mapanood nila ang movie. Nakakatuwa si Mario O’Hara. He personally congratulated us and said, At last, there’s an Oscar-worthy film representing the country. Wow! And before that, we go to the Vancouver International Filmfest next month where it'll be shown in competition."

Other films screened by the Film Academy of the Philippines screening committee were “Thelma”, “Zombadings, Patayin sa Shokot si Remington”, “Rosario”, “Senior Year”, “Ikaw ang Pag-ibig”, “Dalaw” (really???) and “Presa”.
