SINCE WE were with Geoff Eigenmann in Iriga last weekend, folks ask us if we talked at all about Carla Abellana. We’re actually the one who greeted Geoff first at the buffet table and we had a long talk after dinner. Not once was Carla mentioned. But as we were saying goodbye, we shook his hand and told him to say Hi to his girlfriend for us.
The day after we returned to Manila, we got this text message from Carla herself:
“Hi Sir Mario! This is Carla Abellana. I got your number from Ms. Roselle Monteverde. I was hoping to see you tonight at the Marikina Shoe Expo presscon so I could greet you. (We didn’t go as we found the venue quite far.-MB)
Sabi po kasi ni Geoff nagkita daw kayo at sabi niyo po mag-hi sa akin. Thank you for that simple gesture. I am deeply touched. It just comes to show that you are a very kind man. Nung sinabi po sa akin ni Geoff yun, naiyak po talaga ako.
It’s been very difficult for me these past few weeks ever since our last meeting. And I continue to hope and pray that you would accept my apology for offending you. Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
I sincerely hope we can now put this behind us and continue helping each other. I have felt your support for me through these years and hope that you can continue supporting me again. Actually, I’ve learned a lot and I have so much more respect for you now. Ingat po kayo lagi and hope to see you around. God bless.”
So that’s it. The tone of the message now is so different from the harsh and strongly worded email letter she sent us. Apology accepted
