CARMINA VILLAROEL is as busy as ever. She’s doing drama in GMA-7’s “Pahiram ng Isang Ina”, hosting “Day Off” on GMA News Channel 11, is also shooting a new movie, the horror-suspense thriller “The Road” and is getting more endorsements.
“I guess I really have lots of blessings to be thankful for,” she says. “Lots of viewers watch ‘Pahiram ng Isang Ina’ and when they see me in public, tinatanong nila kung kailan matatapos ang pagiging tulala ko sa story. Natuwa sila now that I can recognize the people around me again. Sa ‘The Road’ naman, I play an offbeat role. Isa akong salbaheng ina and my son becomes a battered child. Hirap na hirap ako rito as I can’t see myself hurting in kids in real life.”
She’s with her own two kids, Mavy and Cassie, in her latest TVC for Del Monte Tomato Sauce and Spaghetti Sauce Filipino Style with MMK (munggo, malunggay and kalabasa.) Do they come as a package deal? “Hindi naman. Nagkakataon lang, gusto ng advertiser, family kami dahil mas effective daw sa viewers. Sa Selecta nga, kasama pati dad nilang si Zoren (Legaspi). Dito, kami lang. For the Del Monte Tomato Sauce kasi, we want to stress the positive effect of including vegetables in the sauce for better nutrition of our kids. E, di ba ang mga bata, mahirap pakainin ng gulay? O heto, pag nagluto sila, may kasama na agad na three most nutritious gulays in our country.”
