Cesar Montano back in doing action movie

CESAR MONTANO aims to bring back the hard action picture on the big screen with the new flick he’s directing and starring in, “Hitman”, a co-prod of his own CM Films with Viva Entertainment. “This is my return to Viva, where I started as an extra in the late Ishmael Bernal’s ‘Working Girls’,” he says. “I made a lot of movies with Viva, including the blockbuster ‘Wala Nang Iibigin Pang Iba’ with Sharon Cuneta. I also directed my first film with them, ‘War Freak’. But this time, I’m doing an action flick for today’s generation. Very fast paced and we even use computer graphics to make the action scenes more hardhitting.”

The whole story happens only in two days. Cesar plays a hitman working for crime lord Ricky Davao who has two kids: Joko Diaz and Sam Pinto. Sam has dissociated herself from her family as she objects to their nefarious activities. Cesar wants to resign after he learned that Ricky was the cause of the death of his family, but Ricky has ordered Phillip Salvador to silence him as he knows too much. But Phillip fails in his mission and Cesar then tries to get back at all his enemies, including Sam with whom he has already fallen in love with. Also in the film are Cesar’s son, Diego Loyzaga, and Mark Herras in a special role that was first offered to Aljur Abrenica, who turned it down. "Diego should have played a bigger role but I saw he's not ready yet so sabi ko, mag-workshop muna siya. He plays one of the barkada of Mark and Joko."

“Hitman” is intended for an early November playdate. Aside from “Hitman”, Cesar is now busy teaching a special course on filmmaking to 100 students at Lyceum every Saturday afternoon. He’s also preparing for a new soap on GMA-7 but is hoping his hit sitcom, “Andres de Saya”, will be revived someday since it already has a following of its own.
