Chiqui Roa admits mom Boots Anson Roa is a tough act follow

CHIQUI ROA-PUNO is the first to acknowledge that her mom, Boots Anson Roa, is one hard act to follow. “I know some people will always compare me with her but the difference is she’s more of an actress while I’m into broadcasting,” she says. “But I’m so thankful that this woman considered an icon by many is just a phone call away for me to ask advice from. She was our first guest in the pilot episode of ‘Kumare Klub’ and she even did a dance number with me. Marami siyang ginulat kasi di nila alam magaling siya sumayaw. What she imparted to me while I was growing up, I’m now imparting to my own three kids.”

Chiqui is so slim and fit you won’t think she has 17 and 15-year old sons. She’s married to Congressman Robbie Puno of Rizal and their youngest is a 4-year old girl named Sabrina. After working with ANC for a while, she now gets more assignments on TV5 hosting “Sapul sa 5” at 5 AM and “Kumare Klub” at 7 AM, Monday to Friday.

How is it working with Amy Perez and Tintin Bersola in “Kumare Klub”? “Dati na nila akong tagahanga kaya tuwang-tuwa ako na I get to work with them now. Maganda agad ang naging rapport namin on and off cam aas they’re both magaan katrabaho. Very giving sila as hosts at natutuwa naman ang viewers sa teamwork namin kaya the show is rating high.”
