CHRISTOPHER DE LEON says its an honor to be working again with ex-wife Nora Aunor. “Kinakabahan ako ng unang magkita kami uli, excited, but she’s the one and only superstar at hanggang ngayon, magaling pa rin,” he says at the press preview of their TV5 mini-serye that will run for a month, “Sa Ngalan ng Ina”. “I’m also happy to be working once more with Direk Mario O’Hara and also with our son, Ian. After watching our pilot telecast, I can say I’m very proud of this project. Maganda ang product namin and this is just the start, there’s more to come.”
How about Ate Guy? Does working with her Papa Boyet rekindle memories of their past? “Siempre, marami kaming pinagsamahang pelikula gaya ng ‘Banaue’, ‘Tatlong Walang Diyos’, ‘Mahal Mo, Mahal Ko’, ‘Beloved’, ‘Bato-Bato sa Langit’ at iba pa,” she says. “At ang pinagsamahan namin, nagkaroon ng bunga, ito (she points to their son Ian), kaya yung relasyon namin, laging nandun yun. Hindi na maalis yon. Tapos na yun, pero may pitik pa rin. Yung rapport namin bilang mga artista, matindi pa rin.”
They play political foes in the story but, later, it’ll be revealed that although Nora was married to Bembol Roco and Boyet, to Rosanna Roces, they had a relationship in the past, making the narrative of “Sa Ngalan ng Ina” intriguingly complicated.
