Eugene Domingo, busiest movie actress this year

EUGENE DOMINGO is the busiest movie actress this year. She has already done hits like “Who’s That Girl” and “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” (for which she even won a best actress award). She’s now currently seen simultaneously in two films: “Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi” as the disappointed wife of Wendell Ramos who leaves him and in “Zombadings, Patayin sa Shokot si Remington” as the weird, roller skating mom of Lauren Young. She’s also doing two new films that are both Metro Filmfest entries, playing the mistress of a DOM who becomes Ryan Agoncillo’s neighbor and best friend in “My Househusband” and the star in the Chris Martinez’ episode of “Shake, Rattle and Roll 13”.

She’s also busy on TV doing shows for GMA-7 and TV5. Does she still have time to rest? “Oo naman,” she says at the victory party of “Wedding Tayo”. “Next month, I’m joining the ‘Babae sa Septic Tank’ delegation sa Vancouver International Filmfest and from there, tutuloy ako sa New York to rest and watch Broadway plays. New York is so beautiful during the fall season kaya bumabalik ako rito tuwing October. That’s why I have to finish all my scenes sa comeback series ni Ate Guy sa TV5, ‘Sa Ngalan ng Ina’, where I play her sister at dapat makarami na rin ako ng masu-shoot na eksena sa ‘Househusband’ and ‘Shake 13’.”

She’s one big star who has remained humble, no airs, and no manager. “It works better for me kasi diretso na ko to the people who want to get me. Karamihan naman sa mga ito, I’ve worked with na before so kilala ko na at nakakapalambing na ako sa kanila. But I do have a team who helps me with my schedules. I’m not saying na yung ibang artista dapat gayahin ako kasi who knows, a few years from now, baka kailanganin ko rin ng manager.”
