Lovi Poe perfect choice to reprise Alma Moreno's role as seductive temptress in Aswang

WE SAW the trailer of “Aswang” and Lovi Poe sizzles once more in the title role as the mysterious temptress who drinks the blood of her victims. This certainly makes Lovi the busiest actress this year. So far, she has been seen in “My Valentine Girls”, “Temptation Island” and “My Neighbor’s Wife”, all certified hits. She has also completed one acclaimed prestige project, Joel Lamangan’s political film “Deadline”, where she plays a hardhitting journalist out to expose an abusive warlord.

A bonafide award-winner (she bagged best actress awards for “Mayohan” and “Sagrada Familia”), she also made waves as the new FHM cover girl with her pictorial shot in Thailand. What’s nice about Lovi is that despite her success, her head doesn’t swell and she continues to refine her craft to reinvent herself in every role. She can also go sexy and daring but gets to maintain her innocent persona on and off screen, which is why she’s the perfect choice to reprise the role originally played by Alma Moreno in the first “Aswang” helmed by Peque Gallaga.

“The role requires someone who looks seductive and harmless but keeps an evil secret that makes her deadly,” says Director Jerrold Tarog who did the much acclaimed “Funeraria” episode in “Shake, Rattle & Roll 12”. “Mother Lily and Roselle Monteverde made the perfect choice when they picked Lovi for the title role.
