Mother Lily allows Edgar Allan Guzman to do movie with John Lloyd Cruz

WE WERE SEATED beside Edgar Allan Guzman and his manager, Noel Ferrer, at the premiere night of “My Neighbor’s Wife”. Edgar is now an exclusive Regal star after Mother Lily signed him up to a contract, but after he was directed by Cathy Molina in “Maalaala Mo Kaya”, the lady director wants to cast him in the new John Lloyd Cruz-Angel Locsin movie that she’s doing. Edgar asked Mother Lily to allow him to do it even if it’s with Star Cinema and he was jubilant when the Regal producer freely gave her permission for him to do it.

“Nagpapasalamat talaga ako kay Mother Lily dahil hindi niya ako ipinagkait sa project kasi gustong-gusto ko talagang makasama si John Lloyd at hinahangaan ko siyang actor,” says Edgar.

“That’s just fine with me,” says Mother Lily. “Tulungan lang naman yan in this industry. Basta I’m hoping na maganda sana at markado ang role niya sa movie.”

Mother Lily is releasing Edgar’s entry in Cinemalaya, “Ligo na U, Lapit na Me”, for which he won the best actor award opposite Mercedes Cabral. “Edgar shows much promise,” says Mother Lily. “Given the right breaks, he’ll be an important actor.”

Edgar is also happy playing Nora Aunor’s son in TV5’s “Sa Ngalan ng Ina”. “Tatlo kaming anak kay Bembol Roco: ako, Nadine Samonte and Alwyn Uytingco. Tapos anak niya sa labas kay Christopher de Leon si Eula Caballero. Masarap katrabaho si Ate Guy. Mai-inspire ka to do your best.”
