PAOLO BALLESTEROS and former girlfriend, Kaye, were given custody of their daughter Kiera by the Baguio City Regional Trial Court. “Ayaw sana naming umabot sa ganun but wala kaming choice kasi nga itinatago sa amin yung bata kahit anong pakiusap ang gawin namin,” says Paolo.
They were both in tears when Kaye’s mom, who reared the girl, finally brought Kiera to the court. It was a very touching scene as shown in “Showbiz Central”. During the hearing, the little girl was shown crawling towards her parents. “Naiyak ako, tears of joy as I’m so happy to see her. Gumapang siya papunta sa’min, calling us ‘Mommy, Daddy’,” says Kaye. “Naiyak din siya.”
At the hearing, they had a compromise not to force Kiera to live with them right away. “Siempre nasanay kasi siya sa lola niya kaya hindi puedeng ibigay sa amin agad,” says Paolo. “But we can now visit her and after a couple of months, we’ll meet again and assess the situation. I’m really thankful to Kiera’s grandparents for taking good care of her. At nagpapasalamat din kami na naintindhan nila kami ni Kaye. I know, in time, maaayos din lahat kasi we all just want the best for Kiera who we all love very much.”
Paolo is glad that aside from “Eat Bulaga”, he’s now also in the new soap “Kung Aagawin Mo ang Langit” as Michelle Madrigal’s gay confidante.
