Son of Rommel Padilla and Karla Estrada, Daniel Padilla is the new leading man of Kathryn Bernardo

AFTER ENRIQUE GIL in “Way Back Home”, teen star Kathryn Bernardo gets a new leading man in “Growing Up” that starts airing this afternoon. This is Daniel Padilla, the love son of Karla Estrada and Rommel Padilla. So how is it working with him? “Okay naman si DJ, yun ang nickname niya kasi his full name is Daniel John,” she says. “Naging close kami agad kasi masarap siyang katrabaho. Nakakatuwa. Lahat kami ng iba pa naming kasama sa show, parang barkada na kami talaga. Tulungan kami sa set para mapaganda ang show.”

She says she expects the press to link her and DJ with each other as this is customary in showbiz. “Pero wala po talagang ligawang magaganap kasi hindi pa ko puedeng mag-boyfriend at ayoko pa rin po. Trabaho na lang muna at career.”

About Daniel, is he close to his dad even if he’s staying with his mom and three other siblings who have other dads? “Yes, sobrang close kami ni Dad kahit hiwalay sila ni Mommy. Sabi niya, pagbutihin ko ang trabaho ko kasi hindi madali ang trabaho ng artista.”

At 16, he has had three girlfriends but he says he has no intention of courting Kathryn. “Lagi pong sinasabi sa’min, walang ligawan. Mag-focus na lang sa trabaho.” But does he have a showbiz crush? “Yes, si Cristine Reyes, ang sexy niya kasi.”
