YNEZ VENERACION wants to thank Director Maryo J. de los Reyes for reviving her career. “Ang tagal kong bakante, then he got me to be in ‘Munting Heredera’ at yun, nakilala uli ako ng tao,” she says. “Yun nga lang, nagagalit sila sa’kin kasi kontrabida ang role ko sa soap. But I don’t mind. Ang importante, I’m acting again. I just explain to them na yung pang-aapi ko kay Mona Louise Ray sa ‘Munting Heredera’, acting lang yun. Kasi in real life, umiiral ang maternal instincts ko sa tatlong batang kasama namin sa show at parang nanay nila talaga ko who look after them sa set.”She used to sing in live shows in comedy bars. “Now, heto nga, nire-revive din ni Direk Maryo pati ang singing career dahil ako ang ginawa niyang front act sa concerts ng Masculados. I do solo numbers and then I sing with them habang nilalandi-landi ko silang lahat. Naku, gustong-gusto ng live audience ang ganung mga chorvahan. Nakakaloka. It’s good nagkahulihan kami agad ng loob ng mga Masculados kaya click kami with each other and also with the audience.”
She’ll have a show with the Masculados this Thursday, September 29, at The Library in Malate. “Kasama rin ako sa rest of their shows this year hanggang sa new year show nila sa Bulalo Fiesta in Fairview welcoming 2012,” she adds.
