ANDREA DEL ROSARIO is happy to be part of a hit primetime show like “Munting Heredera”. She plays Bobby Andrews’ wife and they have a special child with cerebral palsy. She can relate with her role well as her own baby, Beatriz, was born with a congenital defect. Her intestines were all tied up so she needed to have surgery shortly after she was born. Baby Beatriz now has colostomy, a tube on her side where she eliminates her body’s waste.
Andrea said the defect has been detected while she was still pregnant with her baby. The ultrasound showed something wrong with the images and the technician told her to consult her obstetrician right away. “I was in denial then. I was determined ituloy ang pregnancy ko. I said, let’s just wait for the baby to come out. I thought, after she came out, we can correct it right away through surgery,” she says. “But it turned out to be a long process and she had complications along the way. What she had is jejuna artesia. Nagkabuhol-buhol ang intestines niya so they had to cut part of it and save the rest. Mahirap ang pinagdaanan namin ng baby ko. Nakakabaliw. Lahat ng santo, natawag ko na every time I pray in our hospital room. May times na gusto ko nang bumigay pag iniisip ko ang problema ng anak ko. First baby ko, may problem pa. Fluke of nature daw. Why did this happen to us? Talagang kay Lord ako kumapit. She’s quite okay now, but hindi pa tapos ang rehabilitation of her gut. I’m not losing hope and I’m sure the Lord will take care of her so she’ll grow up to be a normal healthy child.”
We are praying for your baby, Andrea, for the Lord to perform a miracle on Baby Beatriz and heal her completely.
