Carlos Agassi admits he had a gay relationship

WILL THE ADMISSION that he had a gay relationship before help push the career of an actor? In the case of Eddie Garcia, this is immaterial since he’s already 85 years old and the confession that he did it when he was 15 will no longer have any effect on his career. But with Carlos Agassi whose career has been in the doldrums lately, we doubt if the same kind of confession would help revive his career. At the presscon of “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” starring Vice Ganda, that will now be shown on October 26 instead of October 12, after Eddie’s admission, Carlos became brave enough to admit that he too had a relationship with a gay. He was still a TV commercial model then and not yet an actor with ABS-CBN.

“I didn’t know he’s gay,” he said. “He’s very discreet. Three years kaming magkaibigan before he courted me. It’s hard for me to accept him kasi wala akong muwang sa gay relationships noon. Pero mabait siya at matiyaga. The relationship lasted for almost a year. Madalas kami mag-away, but the relationship made me a better person. I was about 17 then. We still see bump into each other every now and then.”

Does he regret it? “No. Although I believe walang pagkakaiba having a relationship with a gay or a woman dahil pareho lang silang may pusong nagmamahal, I still prefer women.” Why did he open up about it? “Ngayon lang naman may nagtanong, e.”
