THE FACT that Diego Loyzaga is being directed by his own dad, Cesar Montano, in “Hitman” is proof that everything is now okay between them. “My dad warned me that there are plenty of intrigues in showbiz so we just don’t let ourselves be affected by stories that make us fight,” he says. “Even before I joined showbiz, marami ng intriga sa mom and dad ko, kaya I sort of expected this na. Ang gusto ko lang naman is to act, to work, so hindi ko na lang pinapatulan.”
His dad bought him his own car. “Kasi nga, I now have regular tapings for ‘Growing Up’, but I continue to go to school at OB Montessori in Greenhills, which was what I promised to him. So he got me a car para hindi na lang ako nagko-commute to go from school to my tapings. Actually, wala namang problema for me to commute as I’m used to doing that when I was in Sydney, Australia. Kaya lang, he wants me to travel faster from school to work and it’s really more convenient to have your own car. But I’m not driving. Di pa ko sanay and I only have a student permit. I have a driver.”
He’s also in the movie his dad directs and stars in, “Hitman”. “I shot for two days only. I’m one of the guys na kasama ni Mark Herras. My dad says he has another project in the future na kaming dalawa lang. Sana matuloy.”
Diego admits he has had three girlfriends in Australia, but none here yet. “Busy ako with work and studies, e.” How about Julia Montes with whom he’s paired in “Growing Up”? “We’re good friends kasi nagkasama na rin kami sa ‘Mara Clara’ before. But bawal ang ligawan sa amin. We have to focus on our work.”
