Eugene Domingo's Babae sa Septic Tank will have hollywood premiere

EUGENE DOMINGO completed all her scenes in “Sa Ngalan ng Ina” and left last Sunday with her “Babae sa Septic Tank” producer, Atty. Joji Alonso, for the in-competition screening of their film at the Vancouver International Filmfest. “Please pray that our film would win some awards there to help people in North America to be more interested to watch it,” she says. “Makakatulong ito para mas umingay ang film in our campaign to get an Oscar nomination.”

A big foreign film company has requested for a screening of the film and if they liked it, they might distribute it in the U.S. But whether they like it or not, Atty. Joji is now making arrangements to have a premiere night in Hollywood in mid-November where the Hollywood Foreign Press Association can watch it and, perhaps, nominate it as best foreign language film in their annual Golden Globe Awards. This in turn will surely help them in their road to the Academy Awards.

“We talked to Manny Pacquiao and tried to convince him to attend the premiere night as he can no doubt help attract more people to watch it,” Atty. Joji says. “This will be after his fight na with Marquez in Las Vegas on Novembere 12. Definitely, this will help to bring more attention to the film. We’re also hoping the government will help us so we’ll have more funds in our campaign. Kris Aquino is helping us about this. We’re really exploring all venues para mas ma-promote doon ang movie.”
