JILLIAN WARD is busy not only on TV in “Daldalita” but also on the big screen as the girl hired killer Paulo Avelino is assigned to kill in Regal’s Halloween presentation, “Aswang”. Jillian and her brother, Albie Casino, hide in a town they didn’t know is infested with aswangs, led by the mysterious Lovi Poe. Was she scared when she saw Lovi with fangs? “Hindi po,” says Jillian. “Kasi sabi nila, pretend lang yun. Acting lang.”
She’s happy “Daldalita” is rating well, which isn’t surprising since the story moves on a very fast pace. The first episode showed Ogie Alcasid and Donna Cruz happy together as a married couple and by the time it ends, Donna has died giving birth to their baby, who’ll be Jillian. The baby turned out to be mute and doesn’t make a sound. Ogie lets Jinky Oda look after the baby but she uses the child in begging. The baby gets lost, to be found in an “itikan” by Timmy Cruz. Jillian grows up in the company of animals so she learns how to talk with a duck called Daisy and a pig called Bobby.
Timmy’s daughter, Eunice Lagusad, hates and maltreats Jillian because she feels her mom loves Jillian more than her. She tried to kill Daisy the Duck and when Jillian sees this, she finally utters a sound: “Quack! Quack!” Eunice takes Jillian to Manila and leaves her in a market. Jillian gets lost with Daisy and they’re helped by a talking rat, Kirat, who Jillian saved from a cat. Jilllian is reunited with her dad, Ogie, who’s now a veterinanrian and doesn’t know that she’s his missing daughter.
