Joshua Dionisio happy for Barbie Forteza as she goes solo in 'The Road'

HOW DOES Joshua Dionisio feel that perennial partner Barbie Forteza goes solo in GMA Films’ new movie “The Road”? “Siempre po, happy ako para sa kanya,” he says. “Hindi naman puedeng lagi na lang kaming dalawa ang magkasama. We both have to grow. I just wish na sana, mabigyan din ako ng project na ako rin lang mag-isa. But our fans need not worry kasi magkasama kami uli sa big screen in ‘Ang Panday, Ikalawang Aklat’ and on TV, magkasama pa rin naman kami sa ‘Tween Hearts’ tuwing Sunday and soon, sa ‘Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin’ na mapapanood tuwing hapon replacing ‘Sinner or Saint’.”

He considers his role in ‘Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin’ a big challenge. “Talagang iniba ang characterization ko rito to distinguish it from ‘Tween Hearts’. Anak mayaman ako rito na gustong kumawala from his parents kasi he feels parang nagiging robot na lang siya na sunud-sunuran sa bawat gustuhin nila.”

How different is it from the original series shown on primetime with Angelika de la Cruz, Sunshine Dizon, Sherwin Ordonez and Cogie Domingo? “Mas bata yung age ng characters namin dito kasi tweens pa lang kami, so the story has to be changed some para mas bumagay sa amin nina Barbie, Kristoffer Martin and Joyce Ching. Pero lahat kami, we took a series of workshops to make sure magiging maayos ang acting naming lahat dito.”
