Lovi Poe goes topless in Aswang

LOVI POE says she’s happy to be doing one movie after for Mother Lily’s Regal. “Si Mother kasi has always believed in me at a time na I was a nobody at walang pumapansin sa’kin,” she says. “I remember nagkasama kami noon sa elevator and she told me. ‘You’re going to make it.’ She gave me my very first movie, the ‘Christmas Tree’ episode in ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll 10’. Now, heto, she gave me a new project I really love, ‘Aswang’.”

How different is this from the ‘Aswang’ of Alma Moreno? “I didn’t see the first one but I’m told the story is totally new. I’m an aswang with a heart. Masakit sa loob ko to suck the blood of my victims but I had to do it dahil sa pangangailangan.”

We heard she did sexy scenes in the film. “Yes, may scene na I’m topless while I’m putting oil all over my body. I also have hot love scenes with Paulo Avelino that according to our director, Jerrold Tarog, is animalistic ang dating.”

Tarog is well known in the indie film scene for such acclaimed films as “Confessional” and “Senior Year”. This is his first full length mainstream film after he did the “Funeraria” episode in “Shake, Rattle and Roll 12”. How did she find Tarog as a director? “Very competent, very talented. He comes to the set prepared with a list of all the shots he’ll do, really very organized.”

How come she’s still being linked to Jake Cuenca? Someone wrote she’s often seen in his condo. “That’s not true. I haven’t seen Jake for a quite a while tapos nagbababad daw ako sa condo niya, ano ba yun?”
After “Aswang”, she’ll do the Regal filmfest entry, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” and she’s so glad Mother Lily got Jericho Rosales as her leading man. “It’s a dream come true for me kasi grade six pa lang ako, fan na niya ko in ‘Pangako Sa’Yo’.” After Jake, expect Lovi to be linked to Jericho when they start shooting the movie. She can’t be linked to Paulo Avelino as everyone knows Paulo is already hitched to LJ Reyes.
