ONE OF THE most popular DJs in Barangay LS 97.1 FM, with Glenn Allona of Butuan as program director, is Papa Dan who hosts “Wanted Sweetheart” from Monday to Friday, 9 PM to 12 midnight, where he acts as a matchmaker between callers. “The show helps our callers to find a boyfriend or girlfriend on the air,” he says. “May nagiging mag-steady talaga. Some of the stories are amusing, like may girl na nakikipagkaibigan, tapos biglang ibababa ang telepono. Yun pala, kasambahay siyang nahuli ng amo habang tumatawag sa’min. Meron namang guard on duty na biglang papatayin ang phone kapag tinawag siya. Since we started, may nagpakasal na at kinuha pa kong ninong.”
Born on Sept. 17, 1983, his full name is Dan Villanueva and finished broadcasting at Centro Escolar U in 2004. “I started as a student DJ in 2003 on Campus Radio na siyang pinalitan ng Barangay LS at yun , tuloy-tuloy na career ko rito sa GMA radio.” He himself is still single and also looking for the girl who’d be a perfect match for him.
Barangay LS is launching its new promo campaign called Tugs Tugs Da Moves with a TV plug starring Tween stars Derrick Monasterio, Kristoffer Martin and Alden Richards.
