THE METRO MANILA Development Authority (MMDA) and the Metro-Manila Filmfest execom remind student filmmakers that they have until October 30 to submit their entries in the Student Short Film category. Five New Wave (the new name for indie films) full length films and ten Student Short Films will be accepted for showing from December 18 to 21 at the Robinson’s Galleria to usher in the annual Metro filmfest from December 25 to January 7. A student short film should be 12 minutes or less in length while the full length film should be 60 minutes to 115 minutes. The winning director for the New Wave category will get P100,000 cash prize while the school of the winning short film will get P25,000 cash prize. The awarding will be held on the awards night of the annual Metro filmfest. All entries should be made within the period January 2010 to October 30, 2011 and has not been shown in any public theatres. It should be submitted in DVD format with Filipino and English subtiles and not produced by any major film company.
