Mike Tan bonds well with Michelle Madrigal

MIKE TAN admits he had difficulty playing the role of Jonas in “Kung Aagawin Mo ang Langit”. “Malayo kasi siya to what I am in real life,” he says. “He’s a weakling, no backbone, a mama’s boy who cannot decide for himself. E, hindi ako ganun. After my parents separated, ako na naging katulong ng mom ko in sending my two sisters to school. Awa ng Diyos, tapos na sila ng behavioural science and tourism.”

Doesn’t he feel bad that he himself wasn’t able to finish college? “Oo nga. But God blessed me with work. Ako ang mas nakakaluwag kaya obligasyon kong pag-aralin sila. I’m very proud of them.”

What can he say about the negative feedback about his acting in “Kung Aagawin Mo ang Langit” that some folks register on Facebook? “Siempre, first solo lead role ko ito sa mataas ang expectations. I treat it as constructive criticism. But as of now, mas kuha ko na yung character so I think my acting has improved a lot. Ang laging reminder ni Direk Jay Altarejos is to lower and modulate my voice. I’d like to thank my two leading ladies, Michelle Madrigal and Carla Abellana, as they’re both very supportive. For the first time, I did hot bedscenes and I’m thankful si Michelle ang kaeksena ko kasi palagay na loob namin sa isa’t isa after we worked before in ‘Capt. Barbell’. Michelle is a wonderful actress. Maganda bonding namin. Even in our quiet scenes, matindi ang dating niya. We’re thankful na pataas nang pataas ang ratings namin.”
