MOTHER LILY confirms two of her entries are being withdrawn from the Metro Filmfest: “Hototay” starring Nora Aunor and “Mr. Wong”, a co-prod with Robin Padilla. “Si Nora, nagkasakit and she still has to tape for ‘Sa Ngalan ng Ina’ of TV5. Tirso Cruz III is also not available,” she says. “‘Mr. Wong’ naman, it’s a big production hindi matatapos before the deadline. We’ll still make these films but for next year release na. Our remaining filmfest entries will be ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll 13’ and ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ with Maricel Soriano and Gabby Concepcion.”
As directors of the Philippine Red Cross-Quezon City chapter, Mother Lily and daughter Roselle hosted a presscon for the Red Cross Million Volunteer Run set on December 4, 2011, a Sunday, at the MOA grounds, with simultaneous runs in various cities and municipalites in the country. “I promise to run 15 kilometers,” she says. “Running with me and Roselle are stars like Marian Rivera, Isabelle Daza, JC Tiuseco, Ervic Vijandre, Mikael Daez, Emilio Garcia, directors and fellow film producers. The Lord has given us so much and it’s time to give back so I’m deeply honored to be part of the Red Cross team. The Million Volunteer Run will not only raise funds but also educate the public on the importance of volunteerism and disaster preparedness. I promise to serve the Red Cross till the end of my life.”
Present at the launch were Marian, Mikael, Emilio, OMB Chairman Ronnie Ricketts and Kuya Germs. Marian said she’ll ask members of her fans clubs to join the run and she’ll set aside special dates where she’ll ask people to sign up for the run. Is she the new Rosa Rosal? “Naku, wala pong makakapantay sa kanya,” she says. “Bago po sa’kin ito. I’m glad they invited me to join as I realized gusto kong makatulong para manghikayat ng ibang taong sumali rito. Lahat ng buong cast ng ‘Amaya’, nangako na sa’king sasali sila’t tatakbo sa volunteer run na ito.”
Will she ask BF Dingdong Dantes to join her? “Yes, sinabi ko na sa kanyang i-set aside ang December 4 dahil dito and he said, yes, magkasama kaming tatakbo rito.”
There’ll be a national registration week for the run from October 24 to 31. If you want to register, just visit any Red Cross chapter, or call 527-0000 local 114, fax 525-7679. Text 0920-9492972, email run@redcross.org.ph, or visit www.runredcross.org.ph.
