“E, kasi hindi mo rin ako kinakausap,” says Gerald. But now, they’re more at ease with each other. During the presscon of “Won’t Last a Day”, Sarah would often hold Gerald’s arm or thigh while they were seated together. Instead of being conscious when the press pointed this out to her, she pulled her chair nearer to Gerald and even reclined her head on his shoulder. “Sige, promo-promo,” she says, meaning it’s part of the film’s promotion.
Sarah plays a DJ in the story who’s dumped by her boyfriend so she’s bitter about it and vows not to love again. She gives advice to her listeners and one of them is Gerald’s girlfriend who she advises to dump him. The girl did, so Gerald went to Sarah’s radio station to confront her about it. They start on the wrong foot, but as in other romantic comedies of this sort, they eventually fall for each other. In real life, Sarah was also hurt by her first BF, Rayver Cruz. “Hindi ako nagmamadali,” she says. “Gusto ko, ang magiging next boyfriend ko, yung totoo na, siya na ang pakakasalan ko, dahil ayoko rin ng papalit-palit ng boyfriend. At gusto ko, yung lalaking maipagtatanggol at maipaglalaban ako.”
Their film is full of “kilig” scenes usual in Star Cinema romances. In one scene, Sarah threw a basin of water on Gerald. He takes off his wet shirt and bares his abs. He said he prepared for six hours before they shot that scene. How did Sarah feel when she saw Gerald’s naked torso? “Nahilo ako, nahihiya ako, hindi ko siya matingnan ng diretso,” she laughs. “Nagtanggal din siya ng shirt sa ‘Catch Me’, but malayo ako sa kanya, unlike here, kaharap na kaharap ko siya. Hindi naman ako sanay makakita ng hubad na katawan ng lalaki.”
