Barbie Forteza Goes Solo in The Road

BARBIE FORTEZA goes solo in “The Road” minus perennial partner Joshua Dionisio. How does she feel? “Siempre, nakaka-miss din siya,” she says. “But it’s management’s decision na paghiwalayan muna kami rito sa movie. Hindi naman kasi ito love story kundi suspense-thriller. I appear in the first episode with Derrick Monasterio (who was told to stop wooing Sarah Lahbati) and Lexi Fernandez. We get stranded in a remote road, liblib talaga, walang ibang dumaraan. We didn’t know, may killer pala roon at may multo pa. E, ako, matatakutin talaga. While we’re shooting there for eight days, kung ano-anong nai-imagine ko. When I watch horror films, dala ko hanggang sa pagtulog kasi naiisip ko. Parang feeling ko, may presence near me, pero wala naman.”

Why did she accept “The Road” when she scares easily? “Siempre, I want to try to do all sorts of films and TV shows, hindi yung laging iyakan na lang. I’d even want try being a contravida. Gusto ko ring mag-comedy.”

Barbie is one of GMA-7’s busiest tween stars. Aside from “The Road” that opens on November 30, she also stars in the Sunday youth show, “Tween Hearts”, and the daily afternoon soap, “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin”, where she’s both paired with Joshua Dionisio.
