Duncan Ramos Wants To Revive Love Of Local Music Lovers For Opm

DUNCAN RAMOS was born in Cebu on July 9, 1989, the second of three kids. He was only 9 years when he was officially introduced by Gary Valenciano. “I was his front act in many shows and I gained much experience form that,” he says. “I then spent five years with South Border as lead vocalist, from 2002 to 2007, before going solo.”

He’s now a member of the ASAP Sessionistas and he just came back from a six-city tour of the U.S. with them. He also just won the 2011 Urban Music Awards Best Male RnB Pop Artista of the Year Award. Now managed by Backroom, he’s preparing for a big concert at the Metro Bar on West Avenue on December 3, “Unleashing the Knight”.

“My guests are Soul Siren Nina, Prima Diva Billy, Gen. Benjie Belarmino and Luke Mejares,” he says. “I promise to give my best and make it a memorable night of music and fun. I feel so blessed to be given this chance to perform on stage and entertain people.”

For 2012, Duncan intends to conquer the huge Asian market with the release of his new all-acoustic album with remakes of well loved 80s hits. One of his dreams is also to have a big solo concert at the Big Dome. His last album of original songs is still available and his new single, “Hanap”, has just been released. He composed it with the help of Vehnee Saturno and will come out with a music video soon. After being linked to the twin sister of Jinkee Pacquiao, he says he’s loveless for sometime now. “I want to focus on my music. I hope to help revive the interest of local music lovers to OPM and I pray they’ll give us local artists a chance.”
