DIRECTOR LOUIE IGNACIO is proud that the children’s show he directs for GMA-7, “Tropang Potchi”, aired Saturdays at 8:30 AM,won the Special Citation for Best Children and Youth Program in the recent 33rd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA). “We try our best to come out with a show that’s not only entertaining but also informative and educational,” he says.
“Tropang Potchi” star talented kid actors Julian Trono, Sabrina Man, Miggy Jimenez, Bianca Umali, Lianne Valentino, and their latest Ka-potchi, Lenlen Fridal of “Futbolilits”. Each Saturday, the go through some adventures while learning new things together. Today, they study various kinds of disc, playing the classic sport called Ultimate Disc and also meet a collector of vintage vinyl records, which were used before CDs and MP3 players were invented. They discover that DJs still use vinyl records to create effects on their turntables. But a problem crops up when Miggy invites Bianca’s friend, Joana, to the Potchi house, not knowing Bianca has a grudge against Joana. The encounter sparks a confrontation between the girls.
