THE GOLDEN SCREEN AWARDS FOR TV given by Enpress (Entertainment Press Society) with Jun Nardo as president will be given tomorrow night at Teatrino Greenhills in 52 categories. Hosted by Miss Universe 4th runner up Venus Raj, Mikael Daez and John Lapus, the Helen Vela Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to Noli de Castro for news broadcast, ABS-CBN President Ms. Charo Santos-Concio and Maalaala Mo Kaya, and Sen. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon as the iconic hosts of the long-running noontime “Eat Bulaga”.
Performing in the opening number are Ryza Cenon, Sef Cayadona and Enzo Pineda of GMA-7 with Morisette Amon, Krissha Viaje, and Claire Cruz from the TV5 teen noontime show “Hey It’s Saberday.” They will sing “Best Thing I Never Had.” The event is sponsored by Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Senator Tito Sotto and Denz Trading and Marketing.
There’s a new category for best adapted reality show like Biggest Loser, Survivor Philippines, Pilipinas Got Talent, and best adapted drama series like Green Rose, Blusang Itim, Mara Clara. Competing in the best actress category are Susan Roces for “Babaeng Hampaslupa”, Lorna Tolentino for “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin”, Gretchen Barretto for “Magkaribal”, Angel Locsin for “Imortal”, Iza Calzado for “Beauty Queen” and Marian Rivera for “Endless Love”. The nominees for best actor are Derek Ramsay, Jericho Rosales, John Lloyd Cruz, Coco Martin, Eddie Garcia, Sid Lucero and Dennis Trillo. Rivals for Breakthrough Performance by an Actor are Elmo Magalona, Matteo Guidicelli, Mikael Daez, Rocco Nacino, Derrick Monasterio, Alden Richards, Frank Magalona and the late AJ Perez. For Breakthrough performance by an Actress, the rivals are Jessy Mendiola, Andi Eigenmann, Ritz Azul, Julie Ann San Jose, Djanin Cruz, Solenn Heussaff, Frencheska Farr and Wynwyn Marquez.
