IT’S COMMON knowledge Jackie Forster and ex-hubby Benjie Paras are not in good terms and she hasn’t seen her two sons with him after they broke up. Their relationship and breakup is written in Showbiz Couples who Broke Up: Saan Sila Nagkamali. At the pilot telecast of “Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles”, we got to talk to Jackie and asked her if she has seen her 14-year old son Kobe Paras' PLDTmyDSL TV commercial. “Yes, I cry each time I see it,” she says. “I haven’t seen him for so long. At least, kahit sa TV, nakikita ko siya. We look alike.” What about her other son, Andrei? “Sa Twitter ko lang siya nakikita.”
She’s now married to a Dutch guy based in Singapore. “We have a daughter, ang ganda-ganda. He let me join ‘Survivor’ as he’s very supportive. Okay lang sa kanya if I make a showbiz comeback as he knows happy ako rito.”
The first telecast of “Survivor Celebrity Doubles” is really thrilling. The island of San Vicente, Palawan is breathtakingly beautiful, with a white beach that can rival that of Boracay. It can definitely be developed as another world class tourist destination. Even the Survivor executives who visited Palawan got really impressed. When the housemates got there, they were all imprisoned inside a bamboo pen far from the coast. Richard came on board a seaplane and told them they have to free themselves from their “jail” and swim to the shore. On the way, they’ll get floating sacks containing things they can use in the island. On the beach, they’re supposed to find two immunity bracelets. Gino de la Pena and Stef Prescott were the first pair to get to the beach but they weren’t lucky enough to find the bracelets. It’s Chuckie Dreyfus and the rugby players who got them. Although they come in pairs, only one castaway will win P3million in the end.
GMA folks are jubilant as AGB Nielsen ratings indicated that their new shows, “Survivor Philippines” and “Kokak” both rated high in Mega-Manila. The first episode of “Kokak” got a very high 42.6% audience share while “Survivor” got 40%. Even “Munting Heredera” got a high 34.6% share in its new timeslot before “Survivor”, edging out competition.
