JED MADELA’s music video for his “Breathe Again” album surprised many people as it showed him doing kissing scenes with leading lady Denise Laurel. “I myself was surprised when they told me we need to do a kissing scene,” said Jed. “I thought they were just joking so sabi, sige, okay lang, let’s do it. But when the cameras started grinding, kinabahan din ako first time ko to do it for the camera. It’s good I’m comfortable with Denise kasi her family and our family are good friends. Naisip din namin, what will our titos and titas say. But Denise said, sige na, let’s just do it para matapos na.”
Does this mean he’ll now venture into acting? “I already did. Nag-cameo role ako sa isang episode ng ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll 12’, upon the request of Ms. Cathy Dy, boss namin sa Universal Records where I do my albums. But it’s such a short role, pinatay agad ako. If I’d be given the right project and the right people to work with, I’m willing to try a longer role, but I have to take acting workshops muna.”
Right now, Jed is also busy preparing for his concert at the Cultural Center on November 26, “Beyond Expectations”, with Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano and Ballet Manila as his guests. He said he’d also like to try musical theatre and he’d really be delighted to play the title role in “The Phantom of the Opera” if every it’d be staged here.
