JERICHO ROSALES gets to work with Regal for the first time in “Yesterday Today Tomorrow”. “Matagal nang pag nakikita ko ni Mother Lily, she’d say, let’s do a movie,” he says. “Finally, heto, natuloy na rin. Metro filmfest entry pa.”
How does he feel working with mostly Kapuso stars like Lovi Poe (who plays his wife), Solenn Heussaff (who is the model of Ginebra Calendar 2012), Carla Abellana, Dennis Trillo, and also their director, Jun Lana? “I welcome it. It feels good working with talents of other networks. It makes life more exciting. Most of my scenes are with Lovi and, at first, di kami close so we just talk about our roles. But as the shooting went on, we became comfortable with each other. She’s so good. As for Direk Jun, he’s very fast as he makes it very clear to you what exactly ang gusto niyang mangyari sa eksena. He’s very relaxed on the set, also open to ideas so you can approach him. I like working with all of them and I really miss doing a drama film like this.”
How would he want to be billed in a big cast like this? “Hindi ko iniisip yun, e. I’m just thankful I’m part of this beautiful film. I leave it all up to Mother Lily and Roselle.”
Lovi says she’s been a fan of Jericho since “Pangako Sa’Yo” when she was still in grade 6. “I feel so old,” he laughs. “I’ve been in the business for 15 years now, half of my life. But I’m glad I got to work with Lovi as she’s really nice. She gets instructions very well from our director. I play her husband who’s rich so I told her drop her career as a singer. I didn’t know, she sings pala somewhere secretly and that becomes a source of conflict for us. You should watch out for our dramatic confrontation scenes. Ang galing niya. I saw her in ‘Temptation Island’ at siyang pinakamagaling doon.”
Not his ex (Heart Evangelista)? He just laughs. How’s his lovelife? “None, but mas balanse ang buhay ko ngayon with enough time for work, for church, for surfing, for my family. Okay na muna ko roon.”
