JInky Llamanzares as scary witch Ursula in Little Mermaid

JINKY LLAMANZARES is a formidable stage performer and we won’t be surprised if she’d steal all her scenes as the scary sea witch, Ursula, in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” staged by Atlantis Productions at the Meralco Theatre from November 18 to December 11. Jinky first excited theatre viewers as Gigi in “Miss Saigon” in Canada and later as the Acid Queen in “Tommy”. She later performed in Hongkong Disneyland’s “The Golden Mickeys”. With Atlantis, she has also done “Urinetown” and “Legally Blonde”.

How is it performing with first time theatre actors Rachelle Ann Go and Erik Santos in “Little Mermaid”? “They’re both good,” she says. “And with Bobby Garcia and Chari Arespacochaga directing them, they can never go wrong. It’s exciting to work with them.”

Watch out for Jinkee when she sings the show-stopping “Poor Unfortunate Souls” in “Little Mermaid”, the perfect pre-Christmas treat for the whole family. Also in the cast are Calvin Millado as King Triton ruler of the underwater world, OJ Mariano as Sebastian the crab, Lee Viloria as Flounder, Enrique Canoy as Scuttle, Felix Rivera as Flotsam, Jamie Barcelon as Jetsam, Raymond Concepcion as Grimsby and Juliene Mendoza as Chef Louis.
