JUDY ANN SANTOS doesn’t mind if it’s her husband Ryan Agoncillo who’s the title-roler in OctoArts Films’ Metro filmfest entry, “My Househusband”. “I’m actually proud of him kasi ang husay-husay niya in this movie,” she says.
We tell Ryan he might have a good chance of winning the filmfest best actor award for his performance. “Naku, hindi ko iniisip yun. Basta I did my best at, kapag ang kaeksena mo, kasinghusay ng misis ko, it’s easy to act convincingly as she brings out the best in me.”
“My Househusband” is an endearing comedy about a couple who exchange roles, written and directed by Joey Reyes who earlier gave them the hits “Kasal Kasalo Kasali” and “Sakal Sakali Saklolo”. Ryan as Rod stays home doing household chores while Juday as Mia goes out to earn a living. They deal with some unusual situations that crop up with such a set-up.
“In this day and age when the wife also works so the family can have more income, I’m sure a lot of couples can relate with the experiences that Ryan and I go through in the story,” says Juday.
Their first born, Baby Lucho, turned a year old last month. Are they ready to have another one soon? “I’m 33 na so kung mabuntis man ako uli agad, okay lang. It will be a big blessing. Kasi kung later pa ko manganganak, baka mas mahirapan ako so prepared na ko sa susunod as of now. But this Christmas will be extra special for our family dahil nga may Lucho na kami. Naglalakad-lakad na siya and this will be his first Christmas.” Here's the story of Judy Ann Santos' delivery of Baby Lucho.
She already lost 40 lbs. after Lucho was born. Last February when we interviewed them Ryan and Judy Ann were not yet ready for another child. Is she now ready to gain weight again with a new pregnancy? “Why not? It’s worth it naman. Magpapapayat na lang ako uli.”
