MARIAN RIVERA is all set to leave next week to watch the Pacquiao fight in Las Vegas with BF Dingdong Dantes and his family. She's has advanced taping some episodes for her epicserye, “Amaya”, and also proud that it was recognized by the Meycauayan Jewelry Industry Association composed of 135 jewellers in Bulacan for the promotion of our country’s jewelry-making heritage. The GMA Public Affairs docu, “Philippine Treasures”, got the same recognition.
“As a story set in our pre-colonial history, ‘Amaya’ features native Filipino jewelry patterned after the most well known designs of the era. Most of the jewely we used were really crafter by Meycauayan jewellers,” says Marian who, as Amaya, is now ready to fight as a warrior against the abusive Rajah Angaway (Ryan Eigenmann.) This week, Amaya finally becomes friends with the previously hostile Apila (Yasmien Kurdi) while Lingayan (Ayen Munji Laurel) is stabbed by the treacherous Lamitan (Gina Alajar.)
The award from Meycauayan jewellers was received by “Amaya” program manager Cheryl Ching Sy while the award for “Philippine Treasures” was received by its host, Mel Tiangco.
