CONTROVERSIAL MANAGER Lito de Guzman is known for such sexy talents as
Ynez Veneracion, Hazel Espinosa and the Baywalk Beauties. For the first time, he handles a wholesome new teen singer, Raia Quiroz, whose full name is Rachelle Anne Franco Quiroz. She’s from San Fernando, Pampanga, a senior high school OB Montessori student whose parents owns theme parks in Subic and other places, plus various 7-11 outlets. When Raia was called to perform songs from her debut album from Concorde Music, “Tara Na”, on the stage of Rembrandt Hotel’s ballroom, she entered the ballroom and walked to the stage with no less than four bodyguards in Barong flanking her. When asked about this, she said she’s used to it as her dad always assigns bodyguards to protect her and her four other younger sisters. “Super protective po talaga si Daddy,” she said.
Lito is a personal friend of their family. “Eleven pa lang si Raia, nakita ko na ang potential niya,” said Lito. “But I waited for her to grow up muna bago ko siya inihanap ng original songs from Boy Christopher and Blank Tape na siyang kasama sa albums niya ngayon. She’s very talented but I told her to focus muna on singing at saka na siya mag-artista.”
Who’s her favorite singer? “Ever since, gusto ko ang boses ni Regine Velasquez po.” And who’d like to be paired with in case she’s be an “artista”? “Si Jake Vargas po kasi kumakanta rin siya at magaling maggitara.”
Most of the wholesome songs in Raia’s albums are for teenyboppers like “Baby Sorry Na”, “Hay Naku” (the first single), “Muntik Na”, “Para Kang Cellphone”, “Pangarap” and “Tara Na”. Watch her promote her album on TV, radio and mall shows.
