DIAMOND SOUL SIREN NINA is reinventing herself as a dance diva in her new album, “Stay Alive”, her first for Universal Records. Did she leave her past record company due to some misgivings? “No naman,” she says. “I just want some change, try something new, and Universal welcomed my idea of showing a new side of me. Few people kasi know na mahilig ako sa dance. Hands ako with this album pati sa sound, sa cover, as it’s very personal for me. I really prepared hard for this album. I worked out and took dance lessons to be in good shape.”
The first single, simply titled “Dance”, comes out with a music video showing her gyrating in various revealing outfits, making some writers remark that it seems she had her breasts enhanced. “Ay, hindi po. Everything in me is natural. Wala pong retoke diyan.”
How about her lovelife? “It’s lovely.” We heard her boyfriend is a rich businessman. Do we hear wedding bells ringing for them soon after colleagues Juris, Jolina and Kyla just got married? “No, we have no plans of settling down. Di pa kami ready.” See related article: Congrats To Newlyweds Jolina-Mark, Kyla-Rich.
Aside from “Dance”, the other upbeat tunes in her 12-cut album are “Only With You”, “Laging Ikaw”, and “I Came to Dance”. It has also great ballads like “However Much Love”, “I Don’t Want to Fight”, “Missing You”, “Starlight”, “Hagkan”, the inspirational “Believe in the Dream” and her own composition, “You Should Know”. The album is available with a special edition CD with minus one tracks and free paper dolls.
