HE STARTED as a rap artist but Young JV has now branched out into acting in the soap, “Budoy” and on the big screen, he’s Gerald Anderson’s best friend in Star Cinema’s “Won’t Last a Day Without You”. As a cager, he’s also making waves as a member of the Star Magic Basketball Team that defeated the ASAP Rocks Team recently. He’s said to be one of the team’s top three athletes, along with Zanjoe Marudo and Xian Lim. Incidentally, Xian Lim composed a song for Kim Chui and it's a certified hit.
Young JV will be launching his second album on Februrary 2012 with “Alay” as carrier single. The song has a very catchy beat and it is in Tagalog, showing the artist’s versatility as he used to write only English songs. “Alay” is actually a Christmas song with a universal appeal as its message is about unconditional love and emotions. With the Holiday spirit in the air, his song certainly makes the season more festive. Its music video has also been released. Young JV’s debut album was released in 2009. His popular song entitled “That Girl” was one of the most requested songs in the air waves. Music critics, music lovers and the general public were at once surprised and raved over a foreign-sounding Hi-hop artist who happens to be a Filipino teenager.
