The Road: Initial Review

“The Road” opens on Wednesday. It’s a trilogy of three seemingly unrelated horror stories. The first one starts in 2008 starring Barbie Forteza, Derrick Monasterio, Lexi Fernandez and TJ Trinidad. The second is set in 1998 with Rhian Ramos, Alden Richards and Louise de los Reyes. The third one happens in 1988 with Carmina Villaroel, Marvin Agustin and child actor Renz Valerio who’s very good. The movie has good cinematography and production design. The cast, as a whole, is uniformly fine, with Rhian, TJ, Carmina, Alden and Renz standing out. We just wish the script was polished and not riddled with bullet holes.
