Robin Padilla's Daughter Quits Showbiz

QUEENIE PADILLA, 20, eldest daughter of Robin Padilla and ex-wife Liezl Sicangco, is saying goodbye to showbiz to devote her life to Allah after a pilgrimage to the sacred city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia where she found inner peace and a better direction in life. “When I was in showbiz, I was very unhappy,” she said. “I was lost and always felt I never belonged. I am a sinful person but Allah invited me to his house and I am so close to Him now. Islam is a way of life and now I know what my real purpose in life is.”

Queenie was introduced by ABS-CBN in “Momay” opposite Ejay Falcon, who was also paired with her in the movie produced and directed by her dad in India, “Tum”. Ejay went on to do other projects and was paired with Empress Schuck in Robin’s “Guns and Roses”, but Queenie never got another soap. She joined Star Magic in the hope of getting more projects but nothing came. On the other hand, her younger sister, Kylie, was launched to stardom by GMA-7 in “Blusang Itim”, leaving her behind, so we can understand her disillusionment. Her decision to focus on Islam should make their mom happy as Liezl frowns on her daughters being “artistas”.
