SEN. BONG REVILLA sat on our table at the party of Malou Choa Fagar and it’s inevitable for him to be asked about the latest on the case of his late brother Ramgen whose cellphone was found by cops. Investigators say text messages left on Oct. 27, the day before the murder, mentions Ramgen’s complaint about his brother Joseph (now a suspect who’s under police custody) selling their Mitsubishi Strada for a price much lower than its market value just so Joseph can buy a new car. This series of text messages (to be submitted to the court) were addressed to a younger sister, Gail or Ga: “Bigay nyo naman ang allowance ko. (This indicates it’s not true that Ramgen is the one holding their family’s monthly sustenance from ex-Sen. Ramon Revilla, Sr.) Sinira nyo na nga ako kay Daddy tapos ganyan pa. Sobra naman yan Ga.” Another suspect is the sister of Ramgen, Ramona Revilla, is currently being tracked down.
“Alam ko kunsan nag-umpisa to. Sa Strada ni Joseph. Wag na kayo magmaang-maangan pa. Sinabi ko kasi sobrang mura ang benta.”
“Malalaki na tayo. Dapat magkaayos na. Hindi maganda puro away. Nag-text ako kay Mara kanina na sana maayos na lahat at magkabati-bati na tayo.”
This makes it obvious that the siblings are indeed fighting. What can Sen. Bong say about this? “I can’t say anything except we leave it up to the law enforcers,” he says. “We’ll cooperate with them to solve this case sa lalong madaling panahon. Hirap na hirap din ang pamilya namin, lalo na si Daddy, dahil dito.”
What can he say about Genelyn Magsaysay’s allegation that he’s using the case for his political career? (See related article, getting to know more about Genelyn Magsaysay.) “Bakit? I’m not campaigning for 2013 as my term as senator is up to 2016,” he says. “Ayoko na magsalita about her. But I’m touched sa ginagawang pagtatangol sa’kin ni Nay Lolit (Solis) na siyang sumagot kay Genelyn kahit wala akong sinasabi sa kanyang pagtanggol niya ko. I just saw on TV and read her defending me. She’s really like my mom kaya lalong mahal na mahal ko si Nay Lolit. But let’s not talk about that anymore. Mag-focus na lang tayo sa filmfest entry ko, ‘Ang Panday, Ikalawang Aklat’. I’m so proud of it. Kung okay yung una that won best picture, I can proudly say mas maganda pa itong Part 2.”
Isn’t he worried he’s up against the joined forces of Vic Sotto and Ai Ai de las Alas? “No. The movie can stand by itself. Teaser trailer pa lang ang pinalalabas namin, marami ng excited manood. Abangan nyo yung full trailer and it’s even more stunning. Ang post-production nito, ginawa pa sa abroad to make sure the special effects will be flawless. Ito rin ang most star-studded entry kasi we have Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado (who's dad recently passed), Rhian Ramos, Lorna Tolentino, Lucy Torres, Alice Dixson, the GMA Tween Stars, Phillip Salvador, Benjie Paras, Alden Richards, at marami pang iba.”
