Shamcey Supsup denies she's now a swellhead

WHAT CAN Miss Universe 3rd runnerup Shamcey Supsup say about the allegation that she has become a swellhead and now has an attitude? “Whoever said doesn’t really know me,” she says when she headlined the Lee Denim Spring-Summer collection at the Philippine Fashion Week at MOA for Lee National Denim Day. “You can ask anyone I’ve worked with kung may attitude nga ako. I don’t think I’ve given anyone any problem.”

Shamcey modelled the creations of 12 students designers for Lee inspired by six dynamic cities which is an offshoot of Lee’s worldwide “The City is Mine” campaign that urges people to explore, enjoy, and experience everything their city has to offer and also liberate and nurture their passions in the process. This also inspired Lee’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection, “Urban Riders.”

The student designers from top universities DLS-CSB, UP DILIMAN, USC CEBU and UST got valuable advice from some of the fashion experts in the industry, like fashion show director Robby Carmona. They underwent workshops that culminated with the show at Philippine Fashion Week. They also got the chance of having Lee Jeans produce the winning collection and a total cash prize of $4000 USD. Rocking the runway for Lee is Shamcey along with the dashing Anton del Rosario of Philippine Azkals and sultry Michele Gavagan, Miss Earth Philippines Fire 2011. Lee is back to its urban roots as it takes fashion cues from the streets. Spanning cultural diversities, street style from major fashion capitals show a collection of functional denims specifically targeted to freedom lovers who are in constant motion.

What’s Shamcey’s advice to the new designers? “Embrace your individuality. Feed your passion. Harness your creativity. Show the whole world what you’ve got!” she says.
