Why Carmina Villaroel doesn't support Zoren Legaspi's Movie Project

CARMINA VILLAROEL plays a role in “The Road” so different from any other she played before. “Viewers will surely hate me,” she says. “I’m the abusive mom of child actor Renz Valerio. I’m the reason why he grows up to be a murderer. The first time I read the script, sabi ko, napakasalbaheng nanay naman nito. Kaya ko ba ito? It’s really a big challenge for me so I accepted it. Will she take her own twin kids, Mavy and Cassie, to watch “The Road”? “Naku, huwag na. Baka ma-turn off sila sa’kin. I’m a real bad ass kasi in the film.”

How is it working with Director Yam Laranas? “Magaan siya katrabaho. Very quiet sa set, but very organized. Even before we started shooting, he met all of us to explain our roles kaya pagdating sa set, we know exactly what to do.”

Is it true she doesn’t want to help partner Zoren Legaspi to produce the film he aims to direct, “Huling Sayaw ni Salome”, with Michelle Madrigal? “I’m supporting him but ayokong makisosyo as a producer kasi tiyak, makikialam ako. Gusto ko, kung diskarte niya, diskarte lang niya ng buong-buo. He’s really ready to direct. Sana nga, matuloy na.”

Is it true she’s leaving GMA soon like Janice and Gelli de Belen? “May offers but nothing is sure. I still have two existing shows with GMA, ‘Pepito Manaloto’ and ‘Day Off’. Sixth anniversary na namin sa ‘Day Off’ soon. Nakakahinayang namang iwanan.”
