Angelika De La Cruz Back As Contravida In 'Biritera'

ANGELIKA DE LA CRUZ looks so pretty at the PPL Entertainment Christmas party you won’t think she’s now a mom. “Siempre, I have to maintain my looks dahil nag-aartista pa rin naman ako,” she says. “And I have no intentions of leaving showbiz kasi trabaho ko na ito since 14 years old ako. Pag nasa bahay lang ako, I miss acting”

She’s included in the cast of GMA-7’s new soap about singing, “Biritera”, where she shares topbilling with Glaiza de Castro, a singer like her. They’re now auditioning kiddie stars who can belt as the kids in the story will also be doing a lot of singing. Taping starts in January 2012. Since she played villain in past soaps like “Dwarfina” and “Futbolilits”, will she play a similar role here? “Yes, enjoy naman ako mag-contravida. Mas masarap kasi yung ikaw ang nananampal kaysa ikaw yung sinasampal. The last soaps I did na mabait ako was ‘Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit’ with Iza Calzado and ‘Pilyang Kerubin’ with Barbie Forteza.”

Her son, Gabriel, is now 3 years old. Her husband, Orion Casareo, told her they should have another one soon. “Plano namin, mga dalawa pa.”
