Child Actor Bugoy Carino Plays The Lead In 'Shake Rattle 7 Roll 13

ONE OF ABS-CBN’s most lovable child actors is Bugoy Carino, who won the Star Circle Quest for kids when he was 6 years old. He now plays the lead role in the “Tamawo” episode of “Shake, Rattle & Roll 13”. “The story is told from his point of view,” says Director Richard Somes. “He’s the son of Maricar Reyes with her first husband. Now, Maricar is married to Zanjoe Marudo and they have their own baby, so Bugoy is now treated as an outcast and Zanjoe is cruel to him. It’s Bugoy who discovers the presence of the Tamawos or malignos in the place where they live. Bugoy is such a good actor kaya bilib kami lahat sa kanya.” Meantime, Maricar Reyes is being blamed for KC-Piolo split up.

Bugoy is really talented as he also dances so well as part of “Goin’ Bulilit”. But we tell him he should change his name. He has the good looks of a future matinee idol and Bugoy will not be good for him when he grows up. “Rogel Kyle po ang full name ko,” he says. “Nickname lang ang Bugoy.”

Didn’t he get scared of the Tamawo creatures who he acted with in the movie? “Natakot po ako noong una kasi scary yung make-up nila, may pangil pa. But after a while, nasanay rin ako.” Writers interviewing him laughed when he asked them later: “Saan po lalabas yang sinulat nyo sa’kin?” He’s told he should ask his manager to collect the clippings for him. “Kasi po bibilhin ko po lahat ng mga dyaryo pag lumabas na mga sinulat nyo sa akin,” he adds.
