He also figured in a love triangle with Jackie Rice and Dominic Roco in “Sisid” where his role made him more of a villain. Will it be the same here in “Kokak”? “I don’t know where the story will go but I can feel my role here is more of a good guy. Hindi naman siguro ako magiging kontrabida kasi my role is more of makulit na funny. Sa ‘Sisid’, may pagka-psychotic ang character ko na naging killer.”
When will he get a lead role on prime time? “I don’t know. But I’m not in a hurry. Let’s face it, after winning ‘Survivor’, wala naman akong experience sa acting but dito ko napunta. So I’m willing to wait para mahasa muna ko para I’d be ready when they give me a bigger role.”
But he should be happy since he has a followup project right away, where as both Jackie and Dominic do not have new assignments yet. “Oh yes, I’m really thankful to GMA-7 kasi hindi ako nabakante ng matagal.” What happened to the action-comedy he’s supposed to do with Regal along with colleagues from the Mercator Agency: Daniel Matsunaga, Akihiro Sato and Fabio Ide? “It’s title is supposed to be ‘Desperados’, parang male counterpart ng ‘Temptation Island’. I was told wala pa raw makuhang director na babagay roon sa project.”
How does he find working with Sarah Lahbati in “Kokak”? “She’s young and new but definitely, magaling siya. She has plenty of dramatic scenes and very effective siya. Saludo ako sa kanya.”
Sarah says she’s closer to him than to her other leading man, TJ. “Siguro dahil kami lagi magkasama during shooting breaks. I even advised her na ituloy ang studies niya kahit busy na siya sa work.”
