Judy Ann Santos And Ryan Agoncillo Say Their 'My Househusband' Is The Underdog At The Filmfest

WHAT DO Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo think are the chances of their film, “My Househusband, Ikaw Na” against such bigger entries as “Ang Panday 2” and “Enteng ng Ina Mo”. “Aminado naman kaming we’re the underdogs sa filmfest,” says Ryan. “Matitindi talaga ang mga kalaban namin, considered giants in the industry na laging box office hits ang past entries. But we’re confident na we have a good movie, with Direk Joey Reyes writing and directing it. Tapos kasama pa namin si Eugene Domingo, so we have a good fighting chance.”

To which their PR head, Shirley Pizarro adds: “Di ba there’s a saying na kung ano yung maliit, yun ang nakakapuwing, so malay natin, baka in the long run, itong ‘Househusband’ ang maging real topgrosser? It happened before with their past entries na ‘Kasal Kasali Kasalo’ and ‘Sakal Sakali Saklolo’. It had long legs sa box office after winning awards and positive word of mouth kaya na-extend pa ang showing long after the filmfest. What happened nga was sila yung talagang naging topgrossers.”

Juday said making the film is something difficult for her. “May scenes kasi na I scream at Ryan and I find it hard dahil hindi ko siya sinisigawan in real life. Sa tunay na buhay kasi, pag may away kami, walang sigawan kundi walang kibuan. Hindi kami nag-uusap from 3 to 4 days. It works for us to be quiet and have our respective moments to be alone as it gives as time to think things over para malaman kung ano ang ugat ng conflict namin.”
