EDGAR ALLAN GUZMAN turned 22 on Nov. 20 and claims he now got his priorities right. His lovelife takes a backseat and he’ll devote his full time attention on his career, which is what his manager Noel Ferrer wants him to do. “I’ve realized na hindi puedeng divided ang attention ko kung gusto kong mas gumanda pa ang takbo ng career ko,” he says. After winning best actor in Cinemalaya for “Ligo Na U Lapit na Me”, he’s glad that he now stars with Cinemalaya best actress Eugene Domingo in the “Rain Rain Go Away” episode of “Shake Rattle & Roll 13”. His co star Eugene Domingo recently made it to the Oscars.
“Kasama namin in our episode sina Jay Manalo and Boots Anson Roa, directed by Chris Martinez of ‘Temptation Island’,” he says.
“Our family is haunted by the victims who drowned in the Ondoy floods. I have a scene here where I will be trapped inside a car na lumubog din sa baha. We’re always soaking wet in the shooting as it’s always raining very hard in the story. Laging may firemen on the set na binobombahan kami ng tubig for rain effect.”
After doing ‘Sa Ngalan ng Ina’ with Nora Aunor on TV5, Edgar is now part of the gag show “Lokomoko U”. He’s also playing John Lloyd Cruz’ friend in “What Matters Most” for Star Cinema. “I’m so excited with ‘Shake 13’ kasi first movie ko ito sa Metro-Manila Filmfest,” he grins. “Excited din akong sumakay sa float namin and join the Parade of Stars on Christmas Eve na first time ko ring mae-experience.”
