MARICEL SORIANO delivers her memorable line in the impressive trailer of Regal’s filmfest entry “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” with so much feeling: “Napalaki ko ang aming negosyo, pero bakit ang anak ko, di ko napalaki nang maayos?” As the most senior among the girls of “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” that include Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, Carla Abellana and Eula Caballero, she’s flattered that all of them have nothing but praises for her. “Masarap siyang katrabaho,” says Lovi. “Para talaga siyang Ate namin who cares for us on the set.” “She likes to make us laugh,” says Solenn. “She’s a natural comedian.”
“First shooting day ko, siya agad ang kaeksena ko in a confrontation scene and she made me feel comfortable para magawa ko ng tama ang scene,” says Carla. As for Eula, she’s overwhelmed to play Maria’s daughter in the film. “Mapagbigay siya, very sweet,” she pmsays. “Lagi akong tinatanong, Sweetheart, how are you? I feel so blessed na makasama siya in my very first movie.”
Even Mother Lily praises her to high heavens. “Kahit inaabot ng madaling araw ang shooting, you’ll never hear her complain. Sobrang professional siya, very patient, so wala akong masasabi kundi gusto ko pa siya kunin uli para bigyang ng another movie.”
Maricel is grateful to Writer-Director Jun Lana for giving her a good role as the eldest child in their family, with Jericho Rosales and Solenn as her younger siblings. She’s the top executive in the TV network that their family owns. She’s separated from husband Gabby Concepcion and they have a child, Eula. Gabby has remarried to Carla Abellana, but when he and Maricel cross paths anew, their love is rekindled.
