MOTHER LILY MONTEVERDE signed up two Kapamilya talents to be Regal Babies, Sam Concepcion and Enrique Gil, both co-managed by Carlo Orosa with ABS-CBN Star Magic. “I talked to the executives of ABS about this and they gave their permission for Sam and Enrique to sign up with Regal,” says Carlo. “Pinagpaalam ko sila kay Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) and everything is transparent, coursed through our lawyers. Non-exclusive naman ang contracts nila with both ABS and Regal.”
Sam considers himself a Regal Baby even before he signed up with Mother Lily. “I did ‘Mano Po 5’ with them five years ago,” he says. “I played the young Christian Bautista. After that, nakasama ko sa ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll 9’ in the ‘Engkanto’ episode. Now, I’m also in ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll 13’ in the ‘Parola’ episode.”
What his role in ‘Parola’? “I’m the guy na pinag-agawan nina Kathryn Bernardo and Louise de los Reyes. Habang nag-aaway sila, they go to the parola or lighthouse, the one in Calatagan, Batangas, and it so happened it’s the death anniversary of two witches who are also fighting each other, played by Dimples Romana and Julia Clarete who are already both dead but their evil spirits continue to fight. They possess the bodies of Kathryn and Louise para ituloy ang paglalaban nila.”
“I saw the episode and it’s really scary,” says Mother Lily. “Magaling talaga ang director nila, si Jerrold Tarog. Natakot talaga ako while watching it.” See, Jerrold Tarog: One of today's most talented young directors.
On ABS-CBN, Sam is now supporting JM De Guzman in the afternoon soap, “Angelito, Batang Ama”. He’s also doing a movie with Unitel, a musical directed by Chris Martinez with a Romeo and Juliet love story. He’s the son of Eugene Domingo and Ogie Alcasid who falls in love with Tippy Dos Santos, the daughter of his parents mortal enemies, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Gary Valenciano.
